Girls Inc. Leaders in Action

25 girls from Girls Inc. of Tarrant County have been selected to be apart of a club called “Leaders in Action.” Our bill of rights state, “Girls have the right to have confidence in them selves and to be safe in the world.” This statement has set the foundation for this group. As these girls strive to increase their knowledge on issues in their community, they will slowly see that they can make a difference.

The Leaders in Action Club consists of 25 members from East Arlington and Fort Worth. Not only will these girls have the opportunity to build relationships with each other, they will learn the importance of decision making, community involvement, the difference between community service and community action, and the reward that getting involved can bring.

In addition, the girls will learn effective communication skills, how to plan and organize projects, improve literacy skills, and enhance leadership qualities.

As a team, these girls have committed to planning and implementing two community service/action projects per year. Each team will work individually to compile a list of ideas and as a whole group; the girls will narrow down the list to select two projects to complete.

The members of the Girls Inc. Leaders in Actions Club are excited about the opportunity to work with their fellow Girls Inc. partners as they plan to make changes in their community. We will keep you updated as their plans develop. Stay tuned for more news about the Leaders in Action Club(a group of girls ages 8-12).
